Umma:

1st pillar-Shahada: (Faith) Believing in Allah and the prophet Muhammad. 2nd pillar-Salah: Praying 5 times a day. 3rd pillar-Zakat: Giving charity to the needy/ alms. 4th pillar- Sawn: Fasting or no eating for a month during the daylight also known as the month of Ramadan. 5th pillar-Hajj: Pilgrimage to Mecca.

Sharia:
Known as "the path of water." A law regarding marriage and it's rules to what someone cannot and can do when they are married. Like how a women can't marry a slave because if you have a child both parents had to contribute equality but if your a slave your not equal. And men were not allowed to marry women slaves unless they were freed. A free man was allowed to have no more than four women either free or slave.

A law that non-Muslims had to pay tax. Mainly Christians and Jews in the Muslim community. They had to pay tax in order to continue practicing their own religion other that Islam's religion.

He was a ruler of the empire. First inheritor from the Muslim Caliphates. He extended the empire from Spain to India. Later he was overthrown by Abbasid Caliphate. Umayyad had abandoned the ways of caliphs. The people hated him for killing Ali's son.

Abbasid Caliphate overthrew Umayyad Caliphate from the thrown. Abbasid ruled the Islamic empire and it lasted from 750-1258. He was popular with the people and he was part of the Golden Age of Islam.
