Indian Ocean Commercial Network:
Definition: A large trading system that was located in the Indian Ocean Trade. Those who use to trade were mainly Islamic due to the fact that it was located in the Indian Ocean Trade. Then later on the Europeans started to participate in the trade as well.

Trading Post Empire:
Definition: The commerce center that was where most traders would be. This trading port had Portuguese people living in it and their goal was to take control of global commerce since they were a trading port. They wanted to be the best.

Philippines(Spanish):
Definition: The Spanish conquered places such as the Philippines. Most surrounding islands were also conquered by the Spanish. Islands like the Philippines had an advantage and value to the Spanish because they were close to other islands. Like spice islands.

British/Dutch East India Companies:
Definition: Colonies like India and Dutch were creating their own companies of merchandise and goods that they produced. In order to get money.

Tokugawa Shogunte "Silver Trade":
Definition: The silver trade was banning Japan to trade silver with Europe. Basically the only one that could use this trading route was the Dutch.

Potosi:
Definition: Potosi held one of the largest mines that was located in South America. Those who got the luck to live close to the mine would have a good economical way of living due to all the silver and gold found in this mine.

"Soft Gold":
Definition: "Soft Gold" was a term used by the Russians that normally meant people who used the fur-bearing. The fur-bearing was made from animals such as the picture to the left. Fur pelts were in high demand for Russians. It was called "soft gold'' because you could make a lot of money by selling the pelts. Gold as in money and soft as in the fur of these animals were soft.

African Diaspora:
Definition: The slave trading process that occurred in Africa. These slaves were shipped to serve and work in other places. It would be called Diaspora because of how the slaves were transferred.

Benin/Dahomey:
Definition: States that were located in West Africa. Colored people would live in these states. About an 80% contributed to the slave trade and most of it's population was a slave. Eventually they would be transported to another place to continue their work. The sad part is that they wouldn't even know they were being part of the slave trade.
